207 DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMERS INSTALLED
IN IKEJA DISTRIBUTION COMPANY
A total number of 145 Distribution transformers have been installed in Ikeja Distribution Company in the last six months under the 2009 Capital Expenditure.
This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Okaa Chris Akamnonu during the visit of the members of the House of Representative Committee on power to the Company. He gave the details of the installation as follows:.
-145 No Distribution transformers installed and Substations rehabilitated to replace burnt ones restoring 72MVA back to distribution network.
-15 No Distribution Substations up-rated to add 3MVA to the distribution network.
--35 No Distribution Substations installed as relieve overloaded ones adding 17.5MVA to the distribution network.
-12 No Distribution Substations installed as special projects adding 6MVA to the distribution network. The Chief Executive Office further disclosed that 399km route length of 33km feeders were re-conducted and rehabilitated while 80KM route length of 11KV feeders were also re-conducted and rehabilitated. According to him, line trace of 346km route length of 33KV feeders were also carried out. He said that Major Distribution items such as HT and LT Concrete Poles. Communication Equipment, Aluminum Conductors, Ring Main Unit, Hiab lorries, Operational Vehicles, Safety wears among other were procured to enhance operational and maintenance efficiency.

that no unwarranted debits or excessive
estimated.
OSHODI BUSINESS
UNIT UPGRADES DISTRIBUTION SUB-STATIONS
In a bid to improve service delivery to the Communities under the jurisdiction. Oshodi Business Unit Management recently commissioned some of the proposed distribution reinforcement projects earmarked across its network.
The Business Unit commissioned eight Distribution Sub-station, while nine Sub-stations are currently under construction to relieve existing ones that are overloaded. These relief measures are geared towards addressing the issues of overloaded Sub-stations, some of which are presently undergoing load shedding to prolong the lives of the equipment and enhance the quality of electricity supply to our esteemed Customer.
