Ikeja Business Unit Comrade Sam Chuks Nwaire

Comrade Sam Nwaire had his Elementary and Secondary education in his home state, Imo and while in the service of the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), now PHCN, he obtained Full Technical Certificate (FTC) in Electrical Engineering. He proceeded to the University of Lagos where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and later an MBA in Marketing Management

A frontline Unionist, Comrade Sam Nwaire is the current Deputy President of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE). He is the first core Marketer to head a Business Unit. He was the pioneer Business Manager of Ojodu District, District he managed successfully before he was deployed to Ikorodu District and Business Manager to revitalize it.

Between May, 2006 when he assumed duty and December, 2006, Ikorodu District recorded a revenue increase of over sixty million naira and consistently took the first position in cash collection for seven consecutive months (i.e June - December, 2006) a feat never achieved by any District within the PHCN nationwide since inception. A consummate welfarist, Comrade Sam Nwaire has injected life into the workforce by an exemplary display of unparalleled transparency. He is a member of the Nigarian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.

IKEJA BUSINESS UNIT

Ikeja Business Unit, initially named and called New Ikeja Business Unit, came into existence in January, 2007. It was carved out of the old Ikeja Business Unit (now Ogba Business Unit) and Shomolu Business Unit. It is situated on the second floor of the Zonal Headquarters building in Alausa, opposite MITV. Its area of coverage extends from Alausa in Ikeja to G.R.A., Ikeja Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Oregun, Parts of Ojota, Maryland, Mende, Anthony and Ilupeju.

The active customer population of the Business Unit is 22,379 made up of 21,719 Non-Maximum Demand Customers (Non-MD) and 680 Maximum Demand (MD) Customers, It has Three Transmission Stations with Five Injection Substations, Four 33KV Feeders and Twenty (29) 11 KV Feeders. The Business Unit also battles to sustain 34 overloaded Distribution transformers.
